How Far Can a Small Budget go?
Location
Tewkesbury area
The brief
Faced with a tight budget, the client wanted to make the maximum difference to a small garden, tidy it up and generally make it more interesting. It was a big challenge, but inspired by the client’s enthusiasm a great opportunity to transform a nondescript space with huge potential.
Project execution
Discussion with the client, and careful prioritisation of budgets, prompted construction of two height-giving timber pergolas, renewal of edgings with Tegula block paving cladding, construction of an intimate natural sandstone patio, and the introduction of contrasting textures with gravel, natural sandstone stepping stones and a returfed lawn.
Introduction of a few carefully selected plants (including hydrangea, ficus and Castor oil palm) added the final finishing touch, leaving both the client and the landscaper thrilled with the result.
